Security, Big Data & Cloud Events Conference- Hyatt Regency Hotel, Casablanca, Morocco
In the rapidly changing information and communication technology (ICT) environment, data is being created, collected and analyzed by an increasing number of entities, including governments, private enterprises, critical infrastructure owners and operators, humanitarian responders and citizens. This data has the potential to be of tremendous value in driving effective preparedness and mitigation actions, reducing the impact of catastrophic risks (e.g., natural and man-made, etc.), increasing the efficiency of humanitarian response, and enabling recovery of business and livelihoods. However, we have yet to develop a full appreciation of the opportunities to strengthen preparedness and resilience that can be created through strategic partnerships, active collaboration and the sharing of such information.
The event involves a series of presentation examining the role of big data and analytics in catastrophic events. It brought together leaders from the public, private and ICT sectors to examine and propose solutions to the legal, policy and technological barriers. In particular, participants considered the potential role of public-private partnerships in leveraging big data to address the identified challenges and ensuring that needed information is available to allow for an effective preparation and a robust and timely response to public emergencies, thereby enabling community resilience.
Mosaic has been introduced to participants and people who attended the event.
